A beautiful book on inclusive that my 3 year old autistic girl loves! Especially the inclusion of an AAC in the gorgeous illustrations. A great way to help her little brother connect with her and understand how her beautiful brain works. Thank you!!!

Jassy Bear shares such a gentle but powerful message about autism communication, acceptance and inclusion. I especially loved seeing a non speaking autistic character and AC represented in a children's book in a way that helps children understand that communication can look different for everyone.

But my favourite part is the message underneath it all, rather than always expecting Jassy to learn how to fit into the world around him, perhaps the people around him can learn to understand and meet him too.

Such an important message for children and grown ups and such a gorgeous resource for families classrooms and therapists.

As a Speech Pathologist, Jassey Bear by Pauline Sorrell is one of those books I wish every family, educator and child could read. It beautifully raises awareness about AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and reminds us that communication is so much more than spoken words.

For many children with communication disorders, a device is their voice. Through Jassey’s story, Pauline gently and powerfully shows that connection, expression, and belonging can happen in many different ways. The message is simple yet incredibly important: every child deserves to be heard, regardless of how they communicate.

What I loved most was the way Pauline’s storytelling creates empathy and understanding without feeling clinical or instructional. It opens the door for meaningful conversations between children and adults about inclusion, acceptance, and the many forms communication can take.

The most beautiful book, written with so much understanding of autism & the way it affects those living with it. This book should be in all childcare centre's & schools, there is so much to be taken & learnt from this book.

I had been umming and ahhing about buying Jassy Bear for a while, but I’m so incredibly glad I finally did. This book is absolutely beautiful.

As a mum of a four-year-old and his younger brother who has autism, I’m always looking for gentle, meaningful ways to help them understand each other and the world around them. Jassy Bear has been such a special tool for that. It explains autism in a way that is simple, compassionate, and age-appropriate, while still being incredibly powerful.

The story truly pulls at your heartstrings. It creates understanding, encourages empathy, and opens up conversations that can sometimes feel hard to start. My four-year-old connected with it straight away, and it has helped him see his brother’s differences through a lens of love and acceptance.

If you’re a parent, educator, or family member wanting to nurture kindness and understanding around autism, I cannot recommend this book enough. It’s one we will treasure for a long time. 🤍

My nephew has autism, which is what originally brought me to Jassy Bear. Never did I ever imagine how much this book would touch my heart (and make me cry happy and sad tears).
It is so beautifully written, illustrated and brings the awareness that ASD so desperately needs. This book is so wonderful and should be in every classroom, library and homes. I couldn’t love it more if I tried!
